Mario Party Ranked : 1-10

Hey there, everyone! Today, I’m going to share my ranking of the Mario Party series, spanning from the very first installment to Mario Party 10. I’ll be arranging them from what I consider the least enjoyable to the ones I liked best. I’ll delve into why certain entries stood out to me, whether positively or negatively. Hope you enjoy the ride through my ranking of Mario Party!

10 : Mario Party 10

What a fitting place for Mario Party 10 to be in the tenth spot. This is seriously one of the worst Mario Parties. It has the same concept as Mario Party 9 with every player moving together per turn when in the original game they had each player move separately. They seriously did not need to bring back this feature. However, Mario Party 9 is still better than this because it has some good minigames and it doesn’t have a “Bowser Mode.”

Bowser Mode is a mode in Mario Party 10 where you’re being chased by Bowser, and someone has to get to the end before Bowser kills everybody. It’s incredibly rigged for Bowser’s winnings. You see, Bowser gets to roll five dice blocksá…łFIVE! And just because of this stupid mode, I’m going to put Mario Party 10 in 10th place.

9 : Mario Party

Ah yes, the original Mario Party, the one that started it all. This game was really bad when you really think about it. I mean, it had its alright things, but it was just not that good. I really do like this game, but when you really have to think about it, it’s kind of bland.

8 : Mario Party 6

Mario Party 6, a fan favorite for many, had amazing mechanics with the sun and the moon changing how each board was played and the absolutely incredible minigames really boosted gameplay. The thing is, it gets really repetitive. Every single turn, the sun and moon changes. You could be right next to a star and then BAM! The star just turns into a Ztar because it turned night. This Mario Party is really good; it’s just that I don’t like all the new mechanics they added into it.

7 : Mario Party 9

Mario Party 9, a fan-hated entry with this being the introduction to carts. Every player moving together was something people REALLY HATED, everybody liked moving individually better, but for me, I think it was alright. This game has good minigames and an alright story mode. There were no special items, only dice blocks, which in comparison, aren’t anything like the usual mushrooms and other special items you usually get during game play in other Mario Party games.

Mario Party 9 was one of the first games I ever played, and I probably put it in 7th just because of nostalgia. But even with nostalgia, I have to admit, this game is pretty bad. There were good graphics though so I gotta give them that.

6 : Mario Party 3

Mario Party 3, the last Mario Party on the Nintendo 64. This game, when I first played it, used to be my favorite N64 Mario Party. But now I think Mario Party 2 is better than this game. This game still holds a special place in my heart with pretty decent boards and equally decent minigames. I think it’s an alright game, but still not quite worth being placed in the middle of my rating. This Mario Party is actually the version that I play least.

5 : Mario Party 2

Mario Party 2, sandwiched between 1 and 3, is a really good game. Besides the character selection, I really think this game is in between every Mario game. It has its flaws, but a lot of stuff balances those flaws out.

I remember lots of people saying this game was the best game on the Nintendo 64, and I didn’t believe them until I played this game for myself. And wow, this is a really good game for the N64. But not so much overall in comparison to Mario Party games on over consoles, so that’s why I’m placing it in fifth place.

4 : Mario Party 5

I had a really hard time deciding if this game should be in 4th or 3rd, but I think this game belongs in fourth. This game is overall a really great game. The minigames are sort of just alright, but the boards and character roster in this game are really good and have the right amount of new mechanics. I just wished Mario Party 6 could’ve kept it this way.

But yeah, Mario Party 5 is a pretty good game, and I play it every once in a while. I think 4 is just a teeny bit better.

3 : Mario Party 4

Mario Party 4, the first Mario Party on GameCube, and wow, was this one a good Mario Party. When I think of Mario Party, I think of this game. Good minigames, good boards, good character selection, and an very decent story mode. I think if the story mode was a slight bit better, it would’ve ranked second. But for now, it sits in third.

2 : Mario Party 7

I fought actual demons to not put this in first. This game actually had everything. Good story mode, good boards, amazing character selection, good itemsá…łeverything was perfect. If I grew up with this alongside 8, I definitely would’ve put this over 8. But because of that, I must put it in the second spot.

This is also the last Mario Party released on GameCube.

1 : Mario Party 8

Mario Party 8, the first Mario Party I ever played. This game is REALLY GOOD. I have so much love for this game. Seriously, still to this day, I play this game because it’s SO GOOD. The one thing I liked more about 7 was that they had orbs instead of candy, but even with the candy, this game is absolutely incredible.

If it was possible, I would play 100 turns of this game, probably just to lose to a CPU. But I love this game, and that’s why it is NUMBER 1!

And that’s it, my ranking of Mario Party 1-10. I had a lot of fun deciding which games would go in which order, but I already knew I would place Mario Party 8 in the number one spot from the very start. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this, and I’ll see you all next time!
